The Solar System

#Some Interesting facts of the Solar system :
1)In the 16th century, Nicolaus Copernicus was the first, who disputed the notion that most heavenly bodies orbited the Earth with his proposal of a heliocentric universe.
2)It is called as "Solar System" because our Sun is named Sol, after the Latin word "Solis" and anything related to sun is called Solar.
3) Our Solar System is located in an outer spiral arm of the Milky Way Galaxy, which is known as the Orion Arm or Local Spur.
4)It consists of a central star, the Sun and the objects that orbit it. These include eight planets and their more than 160 known moons, dwarf planets, Kuiper Belt objects, scattered disc(Trans-Neptunian objects), asteroids, meteoroids and comets.
5)The age of the solar system is about 4.568 billion years.
6)The mass of the solar system is 1.0014 Solar masses. (1 solar mass = 1.9891*e^30 kg)
7)There are nearly 100 Billion Planetary systems in the Milky Way Galaxy, the Galactic center is the center of the milky way galaxy.
8)The Hottest planet in the Solar system is Venus, not the Mercury because venus consists of thick layer of atmosphere which contains CO2 gas which creates the Greenhouse effect. The Coldest planet is Neptune.
9)The Nearest stars to the solar system are Proxima Centauri(4.25 light years), a red dwarf star and Alpha Centuari(4.37 light years).
10)The boundary of the solar system is spread around 2-light years.(1 light year = 9.461*10^12 km)
11)There are 5 dwarf planets that were recognized by the IAU(International Astronomical Union) with their dates of discovery. They are- Ceres(1801), Pluto(1930), Haumea(2004), Eris(2005) and Makemake(2005).
